How to calculate Instagram engagement rate
Add your average likes, comments, saves, and shares per post. Divide that total by your follower count or average reach, then multiply by 100. Choose one method and use comparable recent posts so the result means the same thing each time.
Use comparable posts
Average at least 10 recent posts of the same format. A Reel and a static post can have very different reach. This calculator shows arithmetic, not a universal quality score; audience size, format, and paid distribution all affect the result.
